I've completely fallen for this lighter palette. Past Springs and Summers were spent stubbornly concealed and drowned in black. It's time to move onto something fresh. In preparation for Spring, I've been obsessing over blushes, nudes and anything romantic. The Acne suede leather fringe jacket in a dusty pink is on the top of my lust list. It's unbelievably playful but undeniably practical as I can see it as the perfect layering piece or thrown over Spring floral dresses and basics. Coming in at a close second are the Opening Ceremony printed bow heels, which I'm envisioning with silk frocks and ombré or watercolour tights. There's just too much gorgeousness here.

I. Acne fringe suede jacket in dusty pink
II. 3.1 Phillip Lim lace shift dress
III. Opening Ceremony bow heel
IV. Queen's Wardrobe pastel nude heels

I love these nude colour items!
Especially that fringed jacket :D

loving these...i'm stocked for spring

I'm so into this palette too, and searching like crazy for the perfect items <3

I really, really like the nude shoes from Queens Wardrobe!

wow, love EVERYTHING! so gorgeous!

fyi, i'm hosting a HUGE giveaway on my blog. more details at katthroatworld.blogspot.com.. :)

Beautiful! I'm trying to add more lilac to my wardrobe this year, too. I can't wait to see these (or similar) items on you. I'm sure you'd add your own touch!

ditto.. im looking for nudes and whites this season as well, sophia..

there's something refreshing about it

aaahh yes.. im trying to open up my wardrobe for these nude pieces this coming spring and summer too! :D

I've been aching for a more romantic palette besides black and grey, which is how this weather makes me feel. The opening ceremony heels are so dreamy. Also, I love that your post is titled Blush and so is the current post up at pink horrorshow. Just thought it was a funny coincidence

wow, i love the Queen's wardrobe shoes! the color is brilliant.

Those pieces are to die for!

Hey!
Last week I recheived your cardigan, and finally I had the time to take a picture, it's not great but I wanted to thank you again!
xx

Definitelyyy. I need more lighter colors in my wardrobe!

oh my goodness I'm lusting after those opening ceremony shoes! these colors are just brilliant! I'm swooning!
xoxo

Gorgeous finds! With winter coming up for us Aussies, I'm going to try and incorporate more pastel softer hues into my winter looks for a change.

The opening ceremony shoes!!!! omgoodness...

I have to admit though, pastels sometime scare me because I think they'll make me look too girly! But they're so pretty to look at...

both of the shoes are soo cute!

the bow heels are super gorgeous!!!! I want a pair!

I've been wanting that Philip Lim dress pretty badly. I too have been taken with all the nudes/ pastel colors.

me too! The last pair of heels is absolutely wonderful.

all of my favorite colors in one post.

What I love most about these photos is how serious they turned out. No one could ever tell that right before this I was feasting on pancakes and Twizzlers for breakfast. Clearly I eat like a 5-year old. Cocoa puffs and ice cream for dinner pwease.

I'm wearing a vintage navy blazer, vintage wool trousers, brown socks, oxford heels, and a bejeweled Christopher Kane x Topshop shirt.
i eat chocolate bars and peanut butter for breakfast. why i'm not keeled over with artherosclerosis is beyond me. and YES to man trousers! i am going to search for the perfect pair myself! :)

Fabulous look!

i missed your posts! great look. new england is the perfect setting for this outfit.

i had kraft easy mac a few days ago - before that, the last time i had microwavable easy mac was back in college!

so chic, masculine but feminie at same time. love

i really love this look!
and i laughed when i read "pwease"

I love that you can pull off this style, so many women would be afraid to mix in those masculine pieces. It looks so fantastic on you, and oh so chic!

Love your outfit. I need to get me some trousers like yours in preparation for winter here.

gorgeous outfit!!! love the trousers!!! :)

I seriously cannot wait until it gets a little warmer in Toronto and I can start rolling up some of my Dad's old pants to recreate this look. Fab, fab.

love it! very pretty

I am just loving the pants!

Great great outfit ! Love the pants :D

Hi Sophia (from another Sofia...),
wow - what an uber stylish blog! :-D
I love your outfit postings very much!
Especially vintage pieces are so cool. I used to wear a lot vintage - then switched - but coming back to it - I love that those are almost unique items you won't see on anybody else.
Will visit again! :)
S.

I haven't seen such nice combination for a long time. I like the way you wear these pants. The blazer and the shoes are to die for. I love it.

amazing outfit!!

ooooo so stylish. love those pants. been slowly tryna get myself into pants/trousers more lately...ever...so..slowly hehaehae

I love this outfit! I think it's so feminine. I like how you tie your scarves, too, and that you don't need any jewelry for this outfit.

Most of all, your photos remind me how much in awe I was of everything around me back when I was in college.... it was only 3 years ago, but it seems so far away!

I really like the unisex style , and especially how you managed to still give a touch of glamor with the top with the shiny black stones, great combo!

I love this outfit! So beautiful with all the layers of black and a neutral scarf to keep the look soft and lovely ;)

Stunning outfit!! Those pants are perfect!

The shoes + socks combo is awesome, I'd love to try to pull that off.

Thanks for the sweet comment on my ring, really appreciate it. Just came across your blog, love your diys (bet you'd do well in a jewelry class!) and use of monochrome. Also found it interesting that you're from Boston-- I'm in Providence, and can sympathize about the weather right now.

I likey how the jewels just kind of peek out under the scarf and blazer!! I munch like a 5 year old at work, powered by candy and pretty much anything sour :/ doesn't quite fly with the dentist huh?

Thanks for you cutie comment, I'll be back to blogging pretty soon since I somehow accidentally purchased a domain??? Scammed I say hehe

<3

Ohmygahh, where is your coat haha!

I love how you threw in a touch of subtle glamour with the black rhinestones underneath the casual scarf/blazer.

Those shoes are absolutely gorgeous.

You've inspired me to grow out my hair! I like the cuffed trousers in this outfit a lot. And the choice of a stone and iron background is great with the outfit.

I've nominated you for the Best Blog award which you can check out on my blog! Just to let you know! :)

this look suits you so well. I love those trousers with the shoes - perfect combo!

You pull off the look with perfection. Those trousers look fabulous on you, and I adore those brogues!

Perfection!

those pants are perfection!
you really look perfect for a mens wear inspired look

Lovely outfit! :) I liked that Christopher Kane shirt a LOT but didn't get it because I didn't really know how to combine it with my clothes. Seeing you wear it makes me wish I'd bought it :p

Soooo cute! Love the tshirt!

couldn't be more stunning if you had tried
you really look amazing here! beyond!

I need to hire you as my shopping consultant because the way you dress is what I aspire to... and fail at haha

I've been wanting to pair some sweat shorts with thigh highs for a long time now. I love the slim and laid back look it creates on the bottom especially when balanced with a heavier and more voluminous top. Looks like I finally have a use for my sweat pants! This scarf is one of my favourites. It's actually a cape but I like to use it as a humongous scarf instead. I can wrap it around 3 times until my head disappears into its folds. It's my monster scarf. RAWR.

Wearing 3 layers of F21 tanks, H&M blazer, sweat shorts, 2 layers of sheer tights, Zara thigh highs, gray jersey scarf, black knit scarf/cape, Chanel purse.
Same thigh-highs as me but WHY SO DIFFERENT FEEL. I hate love you. Good idea wearing it with sweats like that, me likeeey.

wow! this is an incredible outfit! i love the monochromaticity of it and all the layers!! inspiration right here.. now i have to find myself a hugewool scarf like that..

great idea sophia! your outfits always have such great dimension, even w/ just one color =)

love the scarf/cape!

bighairandbikinis.blogspot.com

Love the sweats + thigh-high combo! Well done :) Oh and can I steal your scarf/cape thingy? Pretty please? haha :)

The shorts look great with your boots!

this is so so amazing sophia! if i had thigh highs, i'd totally imitate it. and i really really love that giant scarf/cape.

Gorgeous! I love how you layer, such innovative and creative ideas :) You look super duper cozy <3 xo

I love this look so much and love the boots, too. Ohhhh! and I think I'll follow you about those ebay ankle boots. Lovely! ^^ Thank you for sharing.

i didn't even realize those were sweat shorts until i read the post! they look so great, especially with those boots! and that cape looks fabulous-both as a cape and a scarf!
xo

gorgeous layers! :D

Oh my! I can't believe those are sweat shorts! I LOVE IT! You just made me happy and I love your style and how you threw these extremely simple sweat shorts into a wonderful outfit. Thank you! Also, love the oversized scarf. xoxo

Super! As always!
Love the layering

i love ur poncho! so chic :)

natalieoffduty.blogspot.com

I haven't seen anyone look so good in sweats in a looong time. You look so cool with the poncho and you do all black looks like no other. Totally loving this. Also the overknee boots add a nice touch, love them. I wanted to get the same ones at Zara but they were all sold out in my size >.<

I love wearing sweats, but I never thought about wearing them this way. So thanks!

I love this, incredible outfit. The black folds of fabric look so good with thigh highs. Amazing.

love the look. I also have a huge monster cape/scarf-thingy, teal, got it in Italy, so soft. I do the same thing, much better as massive scarf than a cape. :)

Fabulous idea! I bought a pair of gray sweatpants from Forever 21 & cut them like shorts like I saw on Garance Dore's blog...but I've been unsure how to wear them without looking 'sloppy'. Cannot wait to wear them now with my Topshop over the knee boots! Merci!

I need to post more often! Argh. Lately, I've been in school from sunrise to sunset making it difficult to get back home on time to snap photographs with ample sunlight (if any) left. By the end of the day, my eye bags are also practically drooping to the floor. Not a good look. Here are a few detail shots from today. Less of me, more details.

Talking about details, last night the boy and I went to see A Single Man. It is a breathtakingly beautiful film of the protagonist's last day. Perhaps beautiful to the point of distraction. I found myself narrowing my attention on minutiae: the scenes bouncing between fully saturated to nearly monochromatic, how the last button on cuffs were left unbuttoned, the perfectly folded pocket squares, the pink cigarettes. If that wasn't enough visual candy, Jon Kortajarena plays an aspiring actor/prostitute from Madrid. Aline Weber also appears briefly in the film as a sultry student in Professor Falconer's class. So good.

Wearing Kimchi Blue scalloped tweed jacket, vintage silk blouse, vintage leather shorts, Chanel purse, Jeffrey Campbell wedge boots.
Hey there, I was wondering how the JC wedge fit. Are they comfy?
Cute outfit btw!

@Mel they're super comfy.
@Mel

usually I'm not a fan of tweed. But this is amazing! paired with the leather shorts is perfect!

bighairandbikinis.blogspot.com

it kind of looks like you're ice skating in the second picture!

so jealous of those leather shorts. whenever i try to look for a pair on ebay i get scared away by the results. maybe i'll do a search to exclude the words "booty" and "exotic." lol.

love the boots! you look so classic here, like a Chanel model

Love this outfit. It's the perfect mix of classic and trend based pieces!

Love everything you're wearing!
But how are you not cold?! I bundle up in 2 layers of pants and 3 jackets when it's 40 degrees!

Love these shoes!! I get so happy when I put those shoes on. Anyways, the tweed jacket is amazing. Love this outfit and pics!

Absolutely great outfit. Those boots are to die for.
I am looking forward to A Serious Man, hopefully Robin and I will see it tomorrow! I have heard that it is almost overwhelmingly beautiful, to the point of distraction.

This is not helping my cause to not buy those shoes! They look great on you. Hope things at school are going well.

January 16, 2010

Some time has passed since my last outfit post mainly because Boston has been absolutely frigid. I figured posting photos of me waddling around in down jackets and double layered pants would be frightening. So much so you'd feel the need to revoke my blogging privileges. Today was quite different--we reached a whopping 47 degrees F! Some Bostonians celebrated by wearing shorts. I, on the other hand, celebrated by wearing my new shoes. The celebration was cut short when I stepped in a mud puddle the instant I left home (note the mud in the close-up shot). Smooth. Anyway, if you're digging the shoes, you can get them here.

OMG!! I love those boots, those are exactly what I have been craving for months now. but I have no money! Love your look very chic! <3
