Inspiration doesn't normally come 7am when I'm still groggy and looking at a full day of classes ahead of me, so this is the go-to ensemble on such days. The blazer, trousers, flats, basic tops and leather bags are fail-proof for a full day of lectures, running about the city and eating frozen yogurt in the freezing weather (as pictured)! Anyway, it's been busy here. School, projects, and some DIYs that I'm very excited about sharing soon, so stay tuned to my misadventures. Hints: Lots of black and white, heavy studding, undeniable romanticism, shoulder details and draping. It's funny how nice it all sounds, because we'll just have to see how nice it will actually look!
excited to see the DIYs! =)

indeed that sounds like a foolproof ensemble.

ooh can't wait to see what you've come up with.

love your perfect casual outfit. that's basically my school uniform too!

and i CANNOT wait to see your DIYs.

so cute and casual! cant wait to see your DIYs :D

Cool, a nice and clean standard school outfit! You look polished, yet casual <3

I love how this whole outfit works. You always have such an effortless and chic style. love it!

I know what you mean, I'm really busy with school these days too. And sometimes it's just too much of a hassle to put on anything exciting and I just opt for the comfortable. I think you still look very chic and fashionable even in this very laid back outfit ;). I love your glasses by the way, they suit you so well.

And I wish we had frozen yogurt here =(

yes! this outfit is so great for school, i think i'll need to remember that when i go to class tomorrow. and isn't it funny? i often crave frozen yogurt when it's cold out!

Adore adore your casual school outfit !!! I would wear this everyday to schoool tooo, comfortable is the best sometimes:)

and more DIYs ??!!! Ahhhhh,I really can't wait <3 <3

Very elegant student ... perfect.

this looks so cute! love the glasses

Bright and early, before the rain from last night had dried up, my boyfriend and I wandered down our street to the weekly open market. Years ago, our neighborhood wasn't as trendy as it is today. It's flourished into a center of independent arts and theatre, culture, fine dining, and a lively night scene. Our street especially used to be lined with abandoned warehouses, but they have since transformed into showrooms, art galleries and posh restaurants. Every Sunday, on our street near all the massive brick warehouses, there's an open market where you can find anything from home baked apple pies, hand knit mohair scarves from local designers, art prints from local artists, beautiful vintage clothing, mid-century furniture, and on and on. We like to stop by every so often do rummage through the goods and admire the local scene. This is what I love about living in the city. Oh, annnnd this is what I wore.
Awesome look!

i love how comfy you look for a day of exploring!

You look beautiful, girl. I love the thigh-high stockings - such a great way to give the outfit an extra edge :)

I soo want to live in the city, but for now I'll have to make this country-life work :)

Beautiful outfit, the socks give it a cute touch.

Your neighbourhood sounds wonderful! I'd love to live in a place like that.

this is so perfect! love the proportions, the thigh highs, the big sweater, and it just looks so comfy.
must be nice to live in such an amazing city =)

oo aww so casual and comfy! I love the double layered legs!!

I'm 12th-ing everyone else's comments: the thigh-highs-on-tights twist is brilliant. Still only neck-and-neck with the brilliance of that Fair Isle coat though.

Beautiful chunky cardigan you have and I love the color matching with your tights and those socks:))

Casual still so so chic and comfy for the weekend!! Ohhhhh, how I wish there were such markets here as well.

So much fun and exploring to do every weekend then <3

congrats on style-iconness; living in a neighborhood that has up and come (vs up and coming). the outfit is gorgeous/comfy and that cardigan is to die for.

I posted these pictures over on Chictopia and never got around to posting them here. So, although these are a few days old, here they are! Although I have a penchant for hues of gray and black, I have a weak spot for minty greens, sorbets and some pastels. I don't wear them much, but I still love them. I picked up these minty platform sandals before summer and they've gone unworn until now. Shame on me. They have velcro closures and the platform is so bouncy that they add a spring to each of my steps, kind of like walking on air. Clearly I need more shoes like these. And if you ever doubted that what you wear can have an effect on your gastronomic adventures, doubt no more. The platforms reminded me of mint chip ice cream, so that night I marched over to the JP Licks and grabbed a cone full of it. I love these shoes.

Edit: Ahhh, I'm a Style Icon on Chictopia. Insanity, I say, insanity. I have the biggest grin on my face. Thank you!
Those shoes are so cute! I love the color!

The weather here . . . I'm not even going to waste any more words lamenting it. Boston is like rainy London sans the awesome English accent. We Bostonians do have our own accent, though, and I'm not sure if you've heard it before. If you haven't, you're lucky and really not missing out on anything remotely lovely. But if you're curious, imagine "car" as "cahhh" and "bar" as "bahhh." Lovely, yes? There are so many sunless days here, I might as well pack up my bags and relocate across the ocean.

Anyway, on days like this I also tend to wear dreary black, and lots of it too kind of like a vampire. I don't even need to shy away from the sun because there isn't any.

Wearing: Vintage silk Tiktiner blouse (note the velvet shoulder details!), American Apparel skirt, H&M bow sandal heels, Chanel purse with the equestrian charms from my Chloé Kerala bag, vintage necklace.
You look amazing :) I've always wanted to go to Boston after looking at all your posts!

you're looking chic and elegant as always :) love the bag!

I miss Boston.

The black doesn't look dreary at all! Could we see a close-up of the brooch on your collar? Did it come with the shirt?

Haha, you are so cute! Wish I could visit Boston and hear your accent!

Love all black; but you probably knew that :P You look gorgeous! I especially LOVE the skirt!

hahaha boston accents make me cringe! Whenever I tell people where I'm from they ask if I have a Boston accent...luckily I don't (i hope). anyways, that skirt is pretty cool, and the shoulder details are gorgeous!

I love the sleeves on that shirt! So pretty!

@ Melike

it's a vintage necklace actually! i used to religiously collect vintage jewelry, this one happens to be one of my favourite pieces. i'll be sure to include a closeup next time.

love the all black, but especially the fact that you can still see all of the details and textures in your outfit. the shirt is gorgeous!

omfg your shirt is what dreams are made of
damn. i really need to start vintage-shopping

myglitteringcreation.blogspot.com

Your blouse is fabulous! So Adam's family! Love it. And that purse. BREATHTAKING!

Yet another stunning all black outfit!! You pulled it off again girl:)
Always an inspiration you are to me <3

The blouse sleeves WTHHHH ?? Excuse me,but it really too gorgeous! Would kill to have something like that in my closet.

The charm you put on your purse is so adorable.Didn't know the AA skirt could look so amazing! Have sent my heart to buy one on my next pay. Woooo

Lovely! So elegant and classic :]

Goodness gracious I love this outfit. You look beautiful, of course! I am a total sucker for the leather-look skirt (which I now NEED) and the lace detailing on the top.

oh my god im so impressed with the dress

This outfit is just... wow! Love how each garment has a different texture. It really makes the whole outfit rather eye-catching. Especially considering all-black outfits can sometimes be a rather plain and boring affair. x

Wow that skirt looks lovely! Great outfit and wonderful mix of different textures - beautiful.

Miss, I am so impressed by your blog and your incredible style! x
