diy

February 15, 2011
Having done a bit of DIY in the past, M&J Trimming approached me in collaborating for their very first "Blogger of the Month" challenge. The challenge was to DIY-up a few items using only the supplies they've pre-selected for me. Here, I jazzed up a vintage silk blouse with some iron-on beads and a grosgrain bow. Want to see some more DIY ideas? Check out their blog!
How exciting! The blouse looks amazing. Congrats!

your DIYS are so inspiring. this top is perfect for the spring season!

So pretty! I think I'll make it since it's so easy.

that collar reminds me of button candy gone completely minimalist. rad.

In my 20 some years of life, I'm nearly certain this is the first time I've worn red on Valentine's Day.

Annnnnd, I have an invite code for all of you. It's for my site TagLoudly, which lets you host your blog photos at high quality, tag them with useful captions and links (ie the online store where you bought the item, location info, brands, etc), share photos via short URLs, and let your readers like your blog photos on your blog. We've just launched in private beta, and we're eager to hear your feedback, so here's the invite code: SOPHIA

You've created a fantastic program - you should be super proud of yourself! Congrats Sophia.

you look beautiful in a spot of red and I've been loving the tag.loudly since dylana shared her code. really amazing idea sophia!

love the relaxed sweater with the elbow patches!!

StyleInerplay

You do look great! I love your ferragamos!!

your site is a huge success (many of the blogs I follow use the tag.loudly program)! what i love about this blog post is the use of the word curmudgeon, the beautiful crimson shade of your dress, and the second image of this post (very urban outfitters-esque). happy valentine's day sophia!

I just signed up! Weee. I think this is the bestest idea everr. Can't wait to use it.

PS
I love the unicorns. Haha. :D

Love the simplicity in this look. But the colors make it special, though!

NICE!!! :)

What an easy yet stylish look, it is such a great daytime look taking over the city. I love the combination of the sweater and the velvet skirt. Especially the details on the sweater makes is a lot more interesting. Your Ferragamo flats are elegant and perfect for the outfit. I always love a big bag, you can wear it on any occasion. So you did fabulous.

The red velvet looks awesome. I like how you've knotted your sweater in the first photo. Also, I've signed up for tag.loudly. It's such a great idea!

Well I hate V-Day, but somehow I wore a bright red beanie with my yesterday's outfit... :o))
THANKS FOR THE CODE!!!

x

i have also been afraid of red in the past but now beginning to love it.

You look awesome!

Great pics, I see you're taking advantage of the slight increase in temp here. Thanks for taking a look at my work and for the compliments. I just got my web girl to put in the tag loudly code. I'm gonna give it a try soon. It really is a great idea. Thanks for the post.

love the idea of wearing a dress as a skirt in the winter time, I do it all the time :) and I love your red velvet cupcake color you added to vday!

Thank you! I love this system, and I was wondering how to do it. As for that Wang bag... my god, why must he keep coming out with such lust-worthy accessories?!

Brilliant idea. Will attempt my hand at it tomorrow (post major dentist visit, I am sure to have lots of time to recoup!!). Congrats!

Sunday errands. Waking up to a large glass of strawberry smoothie (thought I'd clarify, in case you thought it's Pepto-Bismol, because it could very well be), and dressing in layers to brave the cold. Anyway, I'm wearing a turtleneck knit dress and leather shirt over it. My hair today was also a happy accident. Maybe I'll do it like this more often.

This post is mostly meant to be a thank you post. Some of you know that I launched a site about 4 days ago called TagLoudly, which lets bloggers like you host, share, tag and like blog photos. I've received wonderful suppory and feedback from early members and it's starting to make all those sleepless nights and Saturday nights staring into a terminal worth it. Thank you all again. Tomorrow, my blog and a few other lovelies will feature a post with an exclusive invite code to join, so look out!

Look what arrived in the mail! They're an impressive pair of shoes out of the box. The suede is gorgeous and they're seriously comfortable. The only downside: they're a little frightening to wear. One mistep and I'll be falling from 6'2"+. These are lethal platforms! Eep.
whoaaaaaa the shoes are way too gorgeous, but look at the heels!! hahaha..
i don't think i could walk on those, either :) :)

Who doesn't love a pair of flower print silk trousers for $5? The massive flowers have a very subtle tinge of blush--it goes so well with the dark navy. And finally the belt that instantly caught my eye. The leather is luscious and I love how it's pre-tied like that. Instant easy style.

DETAILS

Vintage silk trousers, H&M leather belt

That belt is perfect! I've got to get my hands on one. Looking forward to seeing how you style those pants.

can't wait for you posting outfit with that pants :) :)

LOVE those pants!!! Can't wait to see what they look like on.
